I go where the problem is. I've built payments infrastructure and the SDKs on top of it at
PhonePe (Walmart), designed AI systems and LLM agents at Zamp.ai, done machine learning and
data science at IBM, and worked as a quant at Morgan Stanley, AlphaGrep and WorldQuant. Earlier,
research at the MIT Media Lab and UNSW Sydney.

## Selected work

### Natural-language browser agent — Zamp.ai (2025–2026)

- Designed and built an agent that autonomously performs multi-step web tasks from a
  plain-English instruction — planning, navigating and acting across pages without a
  scripted path.
- Led the migration of the Actions Hub to a modular architecture, decoupling action
  registration from agent execution so new capabilities ship without touching the runtime.
- Integrated Langfuse for end-to-end LLM observability; implemented RBAC and automated
  onboarding workflows for new enterprise organizations.

### PhonePe Payment Gateway SDK — PhonePe (Walmart) (2022–2025)

- Led SDK development for PhonePe's B2B payment gateway. Designed and implemented the Java
  SDK, wrote the CI/CD pipelines, and mentored the teams building SDKs for other languages.
  The SDK family has carried **tens of crores in total payment volume**.
- Owned the Epoch scheduling framework for online merchant services; introduced structural
  reforms to its scripts and fixed a long-standing org-wide missing-logs problem. Wrote the
  reconciliation and reporting jobs that close pending transactions.
- Implemented disaster recovery for online merchant services and led the DR drills end to end with SREs and stakeholders, including the infrastructure upgrade and
  migration to the Mahape data centre.
- Built end-to-end accounting and template management for partner integrations, plus
  backend error codes, PG offering events, and merchant-level kill switches on live traffic.

### Valuation adjustments, fixed income desk — Morgan Stanley (2021–2022)

- Associate on the Fixed Income Division's Macro Valuation Adjustment team, improving
  front-office risk systems.
- Led the implementation of 10+ valuation adjustments across desks including structured
  notes and FX, automating VA reporting to tighten controls and save roughly 25
  engineer-hours a month for the Valuation Control and Strats teams.

- Visiting researcher on PAL, which aims to deliver personalized learning to its users.
  Built the reinforcement learning environment, wrote the Python simulations of user
  behaviour, and generated augmented data for training.

  public Java SDK for PhonePe's B2B payment gateway: the developer-facing API, the release
  workflow, and the CI that ships it. 40 commits.
- **[PhonePe/epoch-cli](https://github.com/PhonePe/epoch-cli)** — Author. The CLI for Epoch, the
  cron for the Drove container orchestrator: cluster management commands, `pause-all`, topology
  filtering, and removing the PhonePe-specific constructs so the tool could stand on its own.
  27 commits.
- **[pyjanitor](https://github.com/pyjanitor-devs/pyjanitor)** — Contributor. Clean APIs for data
  cleaning in pandas, 1.5k stars. Two merged features:
  [`drop_constant_columns`](https://github.com/pyjanitor-devs/pyjanitor/pull/852) and a
  [reset-index flag on `row_to_names`](https://github.com/pyjanitor-devs/pyjanitor/pull/849).

## Earlier research & quant work

- **IBM** — Built a cost-efficient heating solution using machine learning for Energy.AI
  clients, prototyping genetically evolving algorithms; projected a 40–50% cost reduction.
- **UNSW Sydney** — Visiting student on a thesis placement from BITS Pilani; also a research assistant for the UNSW Business School. Built a system to assess
  event impacts on assets under Professor Fethi Rabhi; contributed to research on dark pool and
  hedge fund activity at the ASX. Part of this work is open source:

- **AlphaGrep Securities** — Built a single-pane view of strategy performance for
  stakeholders; developed algorithms for Indian equities with a Sharpe ratio above 4 before
  trading costs.
- **WorldQuant** — Developed alphas from technical and fundamental signals; selected alphas
  were traded in live markets.

- **Terminal One — MIT vs Harvard** (2020) — Runner-up. Run by Citadel and Correlation One, across a field of 30,000+ engineers and data scientists. Represented MIT against Harvard
  as a team of two with [Akash Vaish](https://www.linkedin.com/in/akash-vaish-712872aa/). Built
  **Go Get It** (go1, go2, go3 by the end), an algorithm that plays
  [Citadel's Terminal](https://terminal.c1games.com/) against other algorithms, adapting its offence
  to the opponent's attack. Reached the final and lost 5–4.
